Fall is a great time of year to get out in a canoe to do some exploring. The way the light falls against the trees and the water is beautiful and the sounds that surround you are distinct to this time of year. Jump in a canoe to see some of the nooks and crannies of your own lake that you can’t see with a larger boat or take your canoe to another lake for a little change of scenery. It’s like taking a walk in a new neighborhood!
Kayakers will tell you the same – there’s nothing like being low to the water, where you can see the shapes and patterns of lake weeds and watch the fish swim around. It’s truly an intimate experience!
There’s a slight chill in the air and the leaves are just beginning to turn here. But it’s not too late to throw on a jacket and interact with the water while it’s still liquid. There are many glorious Fall days ahead, so get out and greet a couple of them with a paddle! ~Wanda Boldon
