Every day, we meet people who want to make the transition to spending more time – or even ALL their time Up North. Every person’s story of “Are We There Yet?” is unique. In sharing the stories, we hope to show that there are many paths to the same goal. Let’s start with someone who’s right under our own roof – CENTURY 21 real estate agent, Jason Lee!
“We bought our first cabin on Crooked Lake in Siren back in 2003. At the time, our son was two years old and our daughter was two months old. As the kids grew older, we realized our family time at the cabin would be limited with all of their school activities back in the cities. We made the decision in 2006 to sell our home in Plymouth and built a home just outside of Grantsburg so that we could be closer to the lake place. After a couple of cabin upgrades in 2009 and 2016 we sold our home in Grantsburg in 2018 and moved to Crooked Lake full time. I don’t miss the traffic driving to and from the cabin every weekend!
My happy place in the summer is on the pontoon with family and friends. We take a lap or two around the lake on the pontoon most nights we are home. In the winter it’s at the ice arena watching hockey. It’s my favorite sport. I played as a kid growing up and both of my kids have played since they were little. In the winter, weekends have been spent at the rink watching the kids play hockey. I don’t think there is a rink in Western Wisconsin I’ve yet to visit. Some of my favorite hockey memories are coming to the cabin in the winter so my kids could skate on the rink we shoveled on the lake and watching Gopher hockey games with the family.”
Before Jason joined our CENTURY 21 family, he had a 27-year career with a Fortune 500 company where he held a number of different roles in Sales and Account Management. He’s passionate about living here and helping people through their own transitions – whether selling or buying. He certainly has personal experience in both and knows how to make it happen! ~ Wanda Boldon
