In 2005, plans began in Webster for the expansion of the public library. The long road of finding a location and raising the funds has been underway for six years and finally this year, the Library Board has something concrete to work with, literally. Terry Larsen and his family donated the building and site for the new library, which will appropriately be called the Larsen Family Public Library. It’s a 1.1 million dollar project and over $800,000 has been raised so far. The Board has the option of a bridge loan if they fall short of their final needs, but they’d rather not resort to that. According to Laura Rachford, the current president of the Library Board, the new library should be open to the public on August 19th. How exciting!
