We were looking at a property on Yellow Lake this week and heard the squawking and honking of hundreds of birds nearby, only to see a blanket of white and gray birds covering the water several hundred feet down the shoreline. It’s migration time again! We jumped into our car and raced to the South Shore Resort, where we thought the viewing would be best. As we approached, I thought we were being very quiet and sneaky, but those birds were instantly aware of our presence. They started moving away from the shoreline and spreading out right away. Darn! We were able to get some photos to share, but the lesson learned is that most things involving wildlife are better experienced live and in person. So as much as I wish I could share the moment, the best thing I can say is “Wish You Were Here.” ~Wanda Boldon
