Today a large order of CENTURY 21 signs arrived at our office! That prompted some Spring cleaning and organizing in our sign garage to get ready for the big task that lies ahead – Spring sign work. We like our signs to be sharp as they stand in front of our listings and get rid of any faded or damaged signs from the year before. Finally, enough frost is out of the ground that we’re able to start installing our gold post signs at listings that came on the market over the winter and removing posts from properties that sold. We have a wonderful sign installer, who has been with us for years. The Spring sign work will take him up to 5 days. After he’s done with the big Spring effort, he’ll be able to manage things on a weekly basis, as properties sell.
We’re finally experiencing other signs of Spring as well! The familiar sights and sounds are all around us. The birds and water fowl have been returning to the area and the frogs have been singing their little froggy legs off! We woke this morning to a lake that was almost completely ice-free! The ice came off of Crooked and Clam Lakes earlier this week and, as I drove by Devils Lake this morning, I could tell it wasn’t far behind. Thank goodness our lakes will be open and free of ice for the Wisconsin Fishing Opener this weekend. Whew! Almost every pile of snow has melted and many people have started their raking and lawn clean up. It’s all just in time for a new weather forecast – up to 12 inches of snow starting tonight. Gasp! This year, you wouldn’t know it was Spring unless you looked for the signs! ~ Wanda Boldon
