In case you haven’t seen the latest snow depths, this picture should give you an idea of where we currently sit. The snow continues to accumulate and has created an incredible winter wonderland for winter sports enthusiasts, like we’ve not seen in years!
Snowmobilers – we have an update from the Forest and Parks folks.
“Winter Trails are currently OPEN! The majority of the trails are in good condition. We received 12-15″ of snow last Thursday. Most of the trails are groomed, however groomers are having trouble due to the large amount of snow and drifting issues. We ask that you be patient. Please also continue to watch for fallen branches and trees on the trails, as the last snow was extremely heavy.”
Ice Fishing Enthusiasts – the deadline to remove Ice Shelters from the lakes is fast approaching. It’s hard to imagine winter might be winding down, but shelters must be removed by March 16th. If anglers want to use a shelter after this date, it must be portable and removed daily.
Be safe out there and dress for the conditions! ~Wanda Boldon
